The Right Father's Day Gift, Eph. 5:21-24, 6-21-09 "Take-home" truth: Wives must submit to their husbands as to the Lord. Introduction: Verse 22 says, Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. There are many factors at work to give society in general and even many believers a negative view of submission. Of course, there have been abuses of biblical authority that have contributed to this. Sometimes we fail to define it correctly. We have to throw into the mix our own sinful resistance to authority of any kind. The world devalues the attitude of submission. But in spite of all that, the Bible declares in 1 Peter 3 that submission is of great worth to God. And because a submissive attitude is of great worth to God, I suggest to you today that it is the right Father’s Day gift.
